Motorists are to benefit from reduced travel time as the
government opens another segment of the North Coast Highway.
Transport Minister Mike Henry along with officials from the National Road Operating and Constructing Company and the National Works Agency (NWA), will Thursday morning officially open segment Two A of the highway which comprises 27 kilometres of roadway.
NWA's Communication Manager Stephen Shaw said this is the final phase of Segment Two of the highway.
"We have done Segment One which is the stretch from Negril (Westmoreland) into Montego Bay (St. James). This opening signals the completion of Segment Two which is from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios (in St. Ann). Segment Three is in progress," he said.
The completed section of the highway runs from Greenside in Trelawny to the Montego Bay Airport round-a-bout in St. James.
