Detectives in St. Ann are investigating the murder of a senior citizen at his house in Epworth near St. Ann's Bay.
The body of 77-year-old Errol Henry, a returned resident, was found bound and gagged about 7:30 p.m on Tuesday.
Mr. Henry recently returned to Jamaica after living in Canada for several years.
It's reported that he was last seen on Monday evening.
Concerned residents gained entry to his house on Tuesday evening and found his body in a bedroom.
Ian Bell, Councillor for the Beecher Town Division, said the murder of the senior resident has come as a shock to the quiet community.
"It cannot be that these persons would leave their community, go out and work hard in the cold and come back now to relax and enjoy their retirement and this is what we have to offer them in Jamaica. It is sad. I condemn every act of violence in this manner," decried the councillor, who called for "serious penalty" for the culprits.
