Detective Sergeant Doris Stewart has been elected Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation.
The announcement was made by the Federation’s Central Committee on Monday.
In a statement, the Central Committee congratulated Chairman Stuart on her election, and expressed confidence in her leadership as she assumes the role.
The Committee says it looks forward to working with Sergeant Stewart to advance the interests and welfare of rank and file members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Sergeant Stewart succeeds Arleen McBean as Chairman of the Police Federation, following McBean’s promotion last month to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police. That promotion took her outside of the ranks eligible for membership in the Police Federation.
