A joint police/military operation is underway in St. Elizabeth.
Six people have so far been detained in the operation which started at 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Superintendent Coleridge Minto, head of the St. Elizabeth police, said the operation is targeting wanted men, illegal firearms, drugs, and people involved in lottery scamming activities.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Minto also expressed concern about the rising number of road fatalities involving motorcycles.
Additionally, he noted that the police have issued several tickets to motorists and highlighted that some people have been detained for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's licence.
