A huge winter storm brought heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures to the east coast of the US, as a state of emergency has been declared in seven states.
Local officials say at least three people are reported to have died, two in a car crash in Kansas and a third in a road accident in Missouri.
More than 1,700 flights have been cancelled Monday due to heavy snowfall.
