Norman Scott, Mayor of Spanish Town, is unsure that the People's National Party (PNP) will retain the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation in the November 28 Local Government Election.
Mr. Scott, who is the PNP councillor for the Greendale division, says he has based this on his observation of the electorate.
Mr. Scott says voters are becoming more fickle and unpredictable as evidenced by the outcome of the United States presidential election.
He expressed the concern during the final meeting of the Corporation on Thursday.
"You want no more example than in the United States, where they think that their polling is the most advanced and none of the polsters had Mr. Trump winning. So I will say that the chances of the PNP retaining the St. Catherine parish council is - your guess is as good as mine," asserted the mayor.
He, however, insisted that the council had done the necessary work in the corporation to deserve re-election.
