The St. James Municipal Corporation is to receive a report on the damage caused by Wednesday's flooding in Montego Bay.
Several streets in the second city were transformed into waterways following torrential rainfall.
Videos have been making the rounds on social media showing motorists navigating flooded streets with water rising to the level of car bonnets.
Chairman of the St. James Municipal Corporation and Mayor of Montego Bay, Richard Vernon, said the flooding was widespread.
"Several areas were impacted. We are waiting on the update from the superintendent to know the extent of that impact [on] the West Gate area, the Theodore Whitmore Drive in the vicinity of Catherine Hall Stadium, St. James Street, intersectional with Union Street, Temple Gallery in the Bogue area, and I got update on St. Clevers. That is close to South Gully.... Catherine Hall in the vicinity of where the perimeter road expansion of the roadways is being done."
"What I got is that the areas that were significantly impacted are the areas closer to South and the North Gully, which is usual. The superintendent has activated his team and they are doing the assessment of the flooding," said the mayor.
However, he said the flood waters quickly receded.
