The Government of Antigua & Barbuda is seeking to recruit specialist medical personnel from Ghana as it expands a healthcare partnership that has already brought Ghanaian nurses to the country.
The Health Minister said the government has returned to Ghana to explore the recruitment of specialists capable of providing services that are difficult to access locally.
The Ministry says recruiting specialists represents the next phase of the partnership between Antigua & Barbuda and Ghana
Antigua & Barbuda says the move is meant to provide a more comprehensive range of healthcare services, but sometimes the country struggles to attract suitably qualified specialists.
Ghanaian nurses already working in Antigua & Barbuda have been praised for their contribution to the public healthcare system.
St. Kitts & Nevis recently recruited approximately 47 Ghanaian nurses to similarly boost its healthcare system.
