Marine police officers in St. Lucia have arrested five nationals and four non-nationals for possession of illegal drugs and other contraband.
The non-nationals included boat owners and captains from Martinique, Dominica, and, St Vincent & the Grenadines.
The men were found to have been in possession of marijuana and conch without a permit.
In one case, the Marine Police seized a vessel for evading customs duties as law enforcement officials crack down on illegal activities in St Lucian waters.
