Normality has returned to the Highgate based St. Mary High School following a bomb threat this morning.
Operations were suspended to allow the security forces to conduct a search of the school.
Deputy Superintendent Romeo Henry of the St. Mary Police Division said the threat was received about 9 o'clock Sunday night.
He said the police as well as the Jamaica Defence Force responded, and arrived at the location Monday morning in an attempt to prevent persons from entering the compound.
No bomb was found on the compound after the security forces conducted their investigation.
DSP Henry said the source of the threat has not yet been identified.
"There is a voicenote and we are trying our best to decipher. It's a bit coded, but right now we are still investigating," he noted.
Jullett Frazer-Sadaar, Principal of St. Mary High School, is hopeful that the security threat will not negatively affect students who are sitting their CSEC examinations.
Mrs Frazer-Sadaar said students in grades 7 to 10 were advised to stay home and classes were administered online.
She said internal examinations were also rescheduled.
Mrs Frazer-Saadar lamented the dislocation caused by the bomb threat and appealed for anyone considering similar actions to rethink the impact these situations have on people's lives.
The incident came after a similar threat at the Rubis Gas Station in Ocho Rios, St. Ann on Sunday which disrupted the operations of several businesses.
No bomb was found.
The police have asked the person who claimed responsibility for the threat via TikTok to report to the nearest police station.
The man, who said he was an artiste, described the bomb threat as a prank for promotional purposes.
The police are urging individuals to refrain from engaging in these types of disruptive behaviours.
The police say making a bomb threat is a serious matter and will be treated accordingly.
