Scrap metal thieves are
at it again.
Officials of the Monymusk Estate in Lionel Town, Clarendon revealed that persons believed to be connected to the scrap metal trade have vandalised a major access bridge.
The iron bridge is located on the main cane haulage road between Salt Savannah and Greenwich.
According to reports, unidentified persons cut away sections of the metal structures, and also removed concrete from the southern section of the bridge, which is used to fasten the rails.
It is understood that the vandalism of the bridge will have a direct impact on cane transportation.
The bridge's current state also reportedly prevents access to the cultivation of approximately 120 hectares of cane.
Employees of Monymusk are reluctant to use the bridge as it is deemed unsafe.
