One of the suspects being sought in connection with Sunday's mass killing in Cherry Tree Lane, Clarendon, was shot dead during a police/military operation in Toll Gate, on Wednesday afternoon.
This was confirmed by National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang during an interview on Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines late Wednesday afternoon.
Dr. Chang said the deceased was one of three named individuals the police identified as being directly involved in the shooting.
He is linked to a criminal gang in the York Town area.
Another man gave himself up earlier on Wednesday, while the search continues for the third suspect.
Nine people have so far been detained in connection with the mass shooting.
