The suspect linked to Monday's night's killing of a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force during a robbery in Montego Bay, St James, has been captured.
The man was captured during a police operation in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Tuesday.
He was reportedly held inside a store in the old capital.
A major manhunt was launched for his capture last night after 36 year-old Gary Hamilton was fatally shot during a robbery at a liquor store on Barnett Street in Montego Bay.
Mr Hamilton, who was on suspension from the JCF, was working as a security guard at the location.
It was reported that about 5pm, a man armed with a handgun trailed an individual, who was carrying money, into the store.
Mr Hamilton challenged the robber and was shot.
The suspect made off with three million dollars.
Radio Jamaica News was informed that the suspect was recently released on bail on a charge of robbery. He reportedly absconded bail and has been linked to a murder and other robberies since his release.
