The local operator of the Texaco brand, GB Energy, has reportedly presented a final offer of compensation to three of its dealers whose contracts have been terminated.
The termination of the contracts sparked a two day shutdown of Texaco service stations last week.
The Jamaica Gasoline Retailers Association, JGRA, had threatened a wide scale shutdown of the petroleum retail trade if the three Texaco dealers were not compensated by GB Energy.
JGRA President, Derrick Thompson, last night confirmed that a compensation offer was in hand. And although the Texaco dispute has ended the JGRA President says the petroleum retail sector is far from settled. According to Mr. Thompson, there are other issues involving petroleum marketing companies and gas station operators.
