A seven year-old girl is among three persons who died following a motor vehicle crash on the Melrose Bypass in Manchester on Thursday evening.
They have been identified as Daniella Wint, 25 year-old Osheen Wint and 25 year-old Rojae Samuels, all of Stony Hill in St. Andrew.
The incident occurred about 7:30 and involved a Toyota Mark X and two trucks.
The two men and child were passengers in the car.
Assistant Commissioner Calvin Allen, head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), said the crash occurred when the Toyota Mark X, travelling in a westerly direction, collided into an International truck that was travelling in the same direction. The impact cause the truck to spin and collide into another truck that was travelling in the opposite direction.
"The level of impact resulted in serious injuries received by the three passengers that were in the Mark X," ACP Allen revealed.
The driver of the car and another passenger have been admitted in hospital.
The drivers of the trucks were not injured
