Three persons were killed and four others were seriously wounded during a drive-by shooting late Friday night along Mandela Terrace off Waltham Park road in Kingston.
Deputy Superintendent Vanessa Clarke, acting Commanding Officer for the St. Andrew South police division, told Radio Jamaica News that no motive has been established but the authorities are pursuing several leads.
"About 10:45 p.m., persons were gathered at a candllight vigil when armed men drove up in a black motorcar and opened gunfire at them," she explained, adding that among those who were shot, two males and a female died while undergoing treatment at hospital.
DSP Clarke is urging the public to follow the established channels for the hosting of events and gatherings.
