Traffic changes announced ahead of fireworks show in downtown Kingston

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in conjunction with officials from the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has announced several traffic changes and road closures ahead of Wednesday's fireworks show slated for the Kingston waterfront in downtown Kingston.

Motorists will not be able to access the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Nethersole Place as well as the intersection of Church Street and Ocean Boulevard.

However, access will be permitted at the intersections of Port Royal Street and Church Street, King Street and Peter's Lane, Orange Street as well as Princess Street and West Street and Pechon Street up to 4 p.m.

Organisers say a two-way traffic flow will be implemented to facilitate entry and exit to and from designated parking areas only.

Motorists will be allowed access from Church Street and Port Royal Street to the JCC multi-storey car park and from Orange Street to Port Royal Street to the Orange Street multi-storey car park.

Similar arrangements will be in place at Princess Street and Port Royal Street for access to the Digicel car park as well as West Street and Port Royal Street to the West Street car park.

Traffic entering from both the King Street and Church Street will be diverted to Temple Lane multi-storey car park.

Motorists are being urged to comply with the instructions of police on duty.
