Two Jamaicans, Danielle Williams and Ackeem Blake secured victories at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix meet in Boston on Saturday where Brianna Lyston made a strong start to her professional career.
Williams, a 2-time world indoor champion, clocked a world-leading 7.87 seconds to win the women’s 60m hurdles. Blake captured the men’s 60m event in a season’s best 6.53 seconds.
Lyston took the runner-up spot in the women’s 60m in 7.11 seconds, the fastest time by a Jamaican this year. The event was won by Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith in 7.08 seconds.
