President of the St James Taxi Association Dion Chance
President of the St James Taxi Association Dion Chance is expressing concern that operators of public passenger vehicles are being targeted by criminals.
Mr Chance told Radio Jamaica News the series of attacks are becoming a worrying trend.
He has therefore called for the police to be vigilant in investigating crimes perpetrated against taxi drivers.
Mr Chance was speaking against the background of the murder of 58 year-old taxi operator Milton Davis.
Mr Davis, who was reported missing after being engaged for a charter service from Red Hills Road, St. Andrew to Old Harbour, St Catherine, was found dead last week.
His body was found with the throat slashed on February 15 in bushes near Century Farms in Old Harbour.
