Trinidad and Tobago rocked by another earthquake

Another earthquake has rattled Trinidad and Tobago.

The Seismic Research Centre at the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies said a 4.0 magnitude earthquake shook parts of the country Thursday morning.

It is the ninth tremor in the twin-island republic in recent days.

There was no immediate report of injury or damage.

Seismologist Dr. Joan Latchman has said that the various tremors in recent days are nothing new, however, she has warned that Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean to be prepared for a major earthquake.

In August, many residents ran into the streets after a quake with a magnitude of 6.8 rocked the country followed by several aftershocks causing damage but no loss of life.
