Trump's hush money trial done for the week after third witness testifies

Testimony in Donald Trump's hush money criminal trial has concluded for the week.

Three of the prosecution's witnesses testified Friday: ex-tabloid publisher David Pecker, Trump's former longtime assistant Rhona Graff and Michael Cohen's former banker Gary Farro.

The trial will resume Tuesday morning.

Mr. Farro testified about working with Mr. Cohen and banking arrangements that were made to effect the US$130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, which is at the centre of the case.

Jurors heard a short testimony from Ms. Graff, who said two contacts she maintained at the Trump Organization were for Karen McDougal and Daniels.

Mr. Pecker testified over four days about the deal he helped broker with Daniels and the National Enquirer's efforts to suppress stories that could have harmed Mr. Trump's campaign.

Mr. Trump is the first former US president to face criminal charges.

Prosecutors accuse him of taking part in an illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the 2016 election, which included Daniels' payment.
