Political commentator Germaine Barrett is hoping that Dr. Christopher Tufton will seek to address questions regarding the health sector which were raised during Saturday's social issues debate.
Social media users posed questions in regards to funeral homes and overcrowding at hospitals.
In response, Matthew Samuda, who represented Team Jamaica Labour Party, acknowledged that funeral homes lack sufficient regulation. But he said the ministries of national security and health constructed the first public autopsy suite, clearing a significant backlog.
The People's National Party's Raymond Pryce, while arguing that this is a critical part of the Jamaican social space, said the long-standing issue of the underregulation of funeral homes, created the possibility for any administration to formalise and implement structures and protocols.
But Mr. Barrett is hoping that Dr. Tufton will address the concerns during Tuesday's economy debate.
"[I hope] he will steal a little time to explain to the Jamaican people, as he has done multiple times in the Parliament, but he will take the stage and take the opportunity to explain to the Jamaican people that there are unprecedented investments in the health sector, also, some of the concerns surrounding Cornwall Regional Hospital and so forth."
Mr. Barrett also wants Dr. Tufton to address the concern that his absence in the social issues debate to answer those very important questions displayed a lack of regard on the part of the JLP for the Jamaican people.
For Tuesday night's economy debate, Team JLP will be represented by Fayval Williams, Dr. Christopher Tufton and Dr. Dana Morris Dixon. Representing team PNP are Julian Robinson, Peter Bunting and Kisha Anderson.
The debate, which is to start at 9:00 p.m., will be broadcast live on Radio Jamaica as well as sister stations, Power 106 FM, TVJ, TVJ International, TVJ's YouTube channel and JNN.
