Two JDF soldiers shot in West Kingston

Two members of the Jamaica Defence Force are nursing gunshot wounds following a reported confrontation with gunmen in West Kingston on Wednesday morning.
 
The incident occurred about 3 o'clock in the Denham Town Zone of Special Operations, at the intersection of Regent Street and North Street.
 
It's reported that the soldiers were on mobile patrol when they saw men coming from the Tivoli Gardens area heading towards Denham Town.
 
This led to an exchange of gunfire.
 
After the shooting subsided it was discovered that two of the soldiers were shot.
 
They sustained bullet wounds to the arm and leg.
 
The injuries are not life threatening.
 
It is not yet known if any of the gunmen were hit.
 
Seven motor vehicles parked along the roadway were damaged by bullets.
