Two persons of interest identified in shooting death of soldier in Denham Town ZOSO

The police say they have identified two persons of interest in the fatal shooting of Jamaica Defence Force Private Ejay Domville.

The soldier was killed on August 23 when members of the military were attacked by hoodlums inside the Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO) in Denham Town, West Kingston.

Head of the Kingston Western Police, Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps told Radio Jamaica News that investigators are seeking two residents from the Chestnut Lane community for questioning.

They are Shakeem Gray and a man who goes by the alias "Chubby" or "Chubs".

SSP Phipps is urging the men to report to the Denham Town Police Station by 6 o'clock Thursday evening.

JDF cooperating with probe

In the meantime, the Jamaica Defence Force on Wednesday reiterated that it is cooperating fully with the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in their investigation of the shooting.

The military said it has taken note of concerns being expressed in the public that the soldier may have been accidentally shot by one of his colleagues during an exchange of gunfire.

It promised full transparency in the investigation, adding that arrangements are being made to ensure the mother of Private Domville is present at the autopsy.

His mother, Calisha Reynolds, is quoted in Wednesday's edition of The Gleaner as saying that she has not been able to view her son's body since he was killed last week.
