Two suspected lottery scammers charged in St. Elizabeth

Two people were arrested and charged for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) Special Provisions Act during an operation in Gutters, St. Elizabeth on Thursday.
 
Charged with possession of identity information are 32-year-old Linton Manderson, otherwise called 'Pops' and 'Omar' of Montpelier, St. Elizabeth and 23-year-old Natasha Mills, otherwise called 'Tasha' of Sinks district in Clarendon.
 
Acting on intelligence and armed with a search warrant, members of the St. Elizabeth Police division raided a house occupied by the suspects.
 
During a search, sheets containing the names, addresses and other personal information of people living overseas were found.
 
The police also seized cellular telephones.
 
The suspects were taken into custody and charged after they were unable to say how they came to be in possession of the items seized.
 
They are scheduled to appear in the St. Elizabeth Parish Court next week.
