Wanted man fatally shot by police in Hanover

A man who was wanted for murder was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police in Hanover on Monday.
 
The incident occurred around 5 a.m. in Green Island. The deceased has been identified as Omoy Largie, otherwise called 'Not Nice'.
 
Largie was featured multiple times on the Jamaica Constabulary Force's 'Wanted Wednesdays' campaign in relation to the murder of Omar Nichols in Mount Carey, St. James.
 
A Smith and Wesson pistol along with five rounds of ammunition was seized during the incident. 
 
The police say based on investigations and forensic evidence, the murder of Omar Nichols has since been posthumously cleared.
 
The shooting has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations and the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau.
 
Meanwhile, another wanted man has turned himself in.
 
On Tuesday, Alex Brown, otherwise called 'Raw Dog', who was wanted for murder and recently featured on the Wanted Wednesdays campaign, surrendered to the police in Clarendon.
