UHWI closes clinics, halts non-emergency services in light of Tropical Depression

By Kimone Witter

The University Hospital of the West Indies has closed all clinics and halted non-emergency services until further notice.

The hospital remains open solely for dire emergencies.

The UHWI says the limitation of clinical and non-emergency services is being done to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and members of the public during the anticipated passing of Tropical Depression 18.

The hospital noted that it is not a designated shelter and cannot accommodate people seeking refuge.
