Veteran broadcaster Barry G 'The Boogeyman' has died

 
Veteran broadcaster and cultural icon Barrington Seymour Gordon, better known as Barry G 'The Boogeyman', has died.
 
He was one of Jamaica's most beloved radio personalities, whose golden voice, unmatched energy and signature style revolutionalised afternoon radio during the 1980s and 1990s. 
 
Barry G's passing marks the end of an era for Jamaican broadcasting where his influence spanned decades and generations.
 
Known for his infectious humour, quick wit and deep connection with listeners, Barry G dominated the airwaves of JBC Radio 1 and later RJR 94FM, earning him the title, 'The Boogeyman' - a name that became synonymous with his radio excellence.
 
In 2010, is remarkable contribution to media and entertainment was officially recognised when he was inducted into the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer during a ceremony at King's House. 
 
Barry G's death leaves a deep void in Jamaica's media landscape, but his legacy as one of the island's greatest broadcasters lives on through the many lives he touched, both on and off the airwaves.
