Westmoreland residents block road to protest lack of electricity

The main road from Savanna-la-Mar to Negril in Westmoreland was on Tuesday morning blocked by residents of Sheffield who are upset about the lack of electricity in their community.

The area has been without power since the passage of Hurricane Beryl, nearly two weeks ago.

The protesters placed tree limbs across the road to prevent access.

Last week, residents of Dover, St. Mary staged a similar protest in their community.
