Zimbabwe declared drought a national disaster on Wednesday.
This has been brought on by a severe dry spell induced by the El Niño weather pattern which is wreaking havoc across southern Africa.
The country says it now needs $2 billion in aid to help some 2.7 million people who are going hungry.
El Niño is currently fuelling fires and record heat across the world.
Zimbabwe is the third country to declare drought a national disaster after Malawi and Zambia.
