CARICOM leaders to host UN chief and EU Commission president at summit

The Guyana-based CARICOM Secretariat announced yesterday, that United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres, will address CARICOM leaders at their three-day summit in Barbados next month.

Additionally, the President of the European Commission will be the special guest of the regional leaders at their February 19-21 summit that will be chaired by Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley.

The opening ceremony of the summit is to be held at the Lord Erskine Sandiford Centre on the outskirts of the capital, Bridgetown, which will also be addressed by Ms Mottley.

Speakers will also include outgoing CARICOM chairman and Grenada Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, the recently elected Premier of Montserrat, Reuben Meade, and CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr Carla Barnett.
