St. Lucia is reporting a significant increase in the number of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease cases, with health authorities emphasizing the importance of early intervention to limit transactions.

Medical Surveillance Officer, Dr. Harini Vemula, did not provide figures related to the increase.

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness primarily affecting infants and children under five, though older children and adults can also contract the disease.
