Cash Plus Limited has
committed $150 million over the next three years to the National Premier League,
beginning on September 30, separate from the prize money which will be
announced later.
The $150 million does not include cash incentives which will be announced later.
Wray and Nephew's contract of $125 million over five years was mutually terminated last month.
The total amount required to run the premiership for one year is $250 million.
However chairman of the newly formed Premier League Clubs Association former, Prime Minister of Jamaica, Hon. Edward Seaga is grateful for what has been garnered.
Teams will now be required to play 38 matches, five more than last year, as a 4th round has been included.
In this 4th round, the teams finishing from 1-6 will play for the championship, while 7-12 will playoff for positions and placings to avoid relegation.
The Jamaica Football Federation will still be running the competition.
In the opening round, champions Harbour View host St. Georges, Arnett Gardens will face Reno, Portmore United entertain Sporting Central, Seba tackles Waterhouse while August Town meet Boys Town and Village United faces Tivoli Gardens.
