Australia's captain Liz Watson believes Jamaica's Sunshine Girls could be an even greater threat at the 2027 Netball World Cup following their stunning Commonwealth Games victory over the Diamonds. Jamaica defeated Australia by one goal in the semi-finals in Glasgow, before claiming silver behind New Zealand.
Watson expects the sunshine girls to be stronger next year, particularly with legendary goal shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard returning to a squad already featuring defensive stars Shamera Sterling-Humphrey and Latanya Wilson.
The 2027 Netball World Cup will be staged in Sydney, Australia, from August 25 to September 5, where Jamaica will be chasing its first global netball title.
