Dream Catcher dominates the field to win 87th Jamaica Oaks

The Jason DaCosta-trained Dream Catcher continued her dominance of native bred 3 year old fillies this year by landing the season’s final classic, the  87th running of the Jamaica Oaks over 10 furlongs in impressive fashion at Caymanas Park on Saturday.
 
Dream Catcher, the1000 guineas winner, who was sent off as the howling 1-2 favourite in the field of 9, was ridden to victory by title-chasing jockey Tevin Foster.The 3 year old bay filly was one of four winners each for DaCosta and Foster on the 10-race programme.

DaCosta has now saddled three of the last four Jamaica Oaks winners and his 11th classic winner overall in just over 5 years of training in Jamaica, while it was Foster's first success in the event and one of four winners each for both he and DaCosta on the card.

Dream Catcher has also been nominated for the Jamaica Derby, the season’s final classic to be contested over 12 furlongs  next Thursday, Independence Day.
