Eyre narrowly retains Presidency of ASAJ

John Eyre is still the President of the Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica (ASAJ).

Eyre defeated challenger Martin Lyn during the Association's Annual General Meeting in Kingston, Wednesday night.

He received 23 of the votes to Mr. Lyn's 18.

Eyre said the votes reflect a clear statement.

"I was concerned and a little tired about what has transpired over the last few months in the politicking, maneuvering and manipulating for personal gains by one or two individuals. For the most part, I think democracy and justice persevered," Eyre said.

Mr. Lyn will serve as vice-president of the ASAJ.
