Jamaican bobsledder Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to overturn an international Bobsleigh Federation (IBSF) decision to exclude Jamaica's two-woman bobsleigh team from the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Jamaica's two-woman team just missed out on qualification on a tie-breaker to France and Fenlator Victorian feels the rule which sidelined the team is biased towards European teams.

Fenlator-Victorian's appeal is based on the way the IBSF allocates spots for the Olympics based on what she claims is an inaccurate points tally.

Jamaica Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (JBSF) president Chris Stokes told Radio Jamaica Sports that the appeal was an important step in the battle for fairness.

Fenlator-Victorian and alpine skier Benjamin Alexander were Jamaica's flag bearers at the opening ceremony on Friday.
