MBU return to the top of JPL table

A 61st minute strike from substitute Owayne Gordon ensured Montego Bay United reclaimed top spot in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League (JPL) with a 1-0 away win over Tivoli Gardens at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex on Thursday. Mobay United are now three points ahead of Racing United who thrashed Treasure Beach 4-1 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, after a goalless first half over at Ferdie Neita Park, third placed Portmore United found their shooting boots as they dispatched promoted team Spanish Town Police 4-0 to end a five game winless run in style.

Elsewhere, Harbour View gained a vital point in their 1-1 draw at home against Waterhouse which puts them above the relegation zone on goal difference.

The “Stars of the East” may view it as two points dropped though, as Rohan Brown's goal to take the lead in the 53rd minute was cancelled out in the 89th minute by Colorado Murray. The point puts Waterhouse up to 9th ahead of Molynes United.
