The much anticipated clash
between world record holder, Jamaica's
Asafa Powell and world champion Tyson Gay is set to materialize when the two
meet in the 100 metres on the weekend of July 25 and 26 at the London Grand Prix
in Crystal Palace, 3 weeks before the Olympics.
This will be the first
race between Powell and Gay since they clashed in the 100 meter final at the
world championships in Osaka.
Japan last year.
The winner will receive ₤25,000.
The match-up could likely be their first clash and only meeting before the Beijing Olympics.
