Special Olympic football team presented with equipment

Jamaica's Special Olympic football team was presented with playing gear by sponsors Scotia Bank as they continue their build up for the 2015 games in California.

The presentation was made on Saturday at the sixth staging of the Special Olympic football tournament staged at Utech where a combined team defeated Scotia Bank 5-4 on penalties.

Director of football Lennox Christie says members of Scotia Bank will be used to represent Jamaica at the games in 2015.

“In Special Olympics we have integrated teams, so we have Special Olympic athletes and Non-Special Olympics athletes. By the way, half of our team is actually from Scotia Bank, so it’s a combination of Scotia Bank players and Special Olympic athletes. So they come together and they will be representing Jamaica in the international games for Special Olympics coming up 2015. It’s a team in training, and so it was lovely to see how they display their talents today. We won, and we feel really, really happy", Christie added.
