The Sunshine Girls defeated South Africa 63-48 in game one of their tri-test netball series Friday night at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
Jhaniele Fowler 49 goals from 54 attempts led the way for the Jamaicans who led 17-12, 31-26 and 47-39 at the intervals.
Anna-Kay Griffiths 10 goals from 13 attempts and Vanessa Walker 4 from 6 provided support.
It was the 100th international for captain Nadine Bryan who stood out to coach Oberon Pitterson, despite other mistakes by the team.
The South African coach Elize Kotze found reasons to be hopeful even in defeat.
Chrishna Botha was South Africa's top-scorer with 37 from 52 attempts.
The second game of the series will be contested on Sunday at 5 o'clock.
