Sunshine Girls third in 2010 World Fastnet Champs

Jamaica's Sunshine Girls capped a rough year with a third place finish at the second World Fastnet Netball Championships in Liverpool, England on Saturday.

Jamaica won the bronze with a 30-29 beating of Australia for the second time at the tournament.

The Sunshine Girls' only defeat of the tournament came in the semi-finals, 29-28 against New Zealand who went on to retain their crown with a 28-26 win over hosts England.

The Jamaicans who finished second at last year's inaugural World Fastnet Netball Championships, had fallen below their own expectations at last month's Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India where they ended fourth.

Jamaica was also whitewashed in series with Australia and New Zealand.

However, they had rebounded to draw their two home test series against England.
