Three podium finishes for Jamaicans on last day of Brussels Diamond League final

Ackera Nugent closed off an impressive season with another podium finish on Saturday’s second and final day of the Diamond League final in Brussels, Belgium. 

Nugent clocked 12.55 seconds for third in the 100m hurdles which was won by Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in 12.38.

Reigning world champion Danielle Williams was 5th in 12.62.

Shiann Salmon also took 3rd place in the women's 400m hurdles clocking  53.99 seconds for third in the 400 metre hurdles.

The race was won by Olympic bronze medallist Femke Bol in 52.45, with Jamaicans Janieve Russell finishing 7th in 55.94 and Andrenette Knight 8th in 56.70 seconds.

Roshawn Clarke was 5th in the men's equivalent in 49.08 seconds with Malik James-King finishing 6th in 49.37.

Rajindra Campbell was the nation's other podium finisher, registering 21.95 metres in the shot put for third.

Italy's Leonardo Fabbri won the event with  a meet record and personal best 22.98 metres with American Olympic champion Ryan Crouser 22.79 metres finishing second.

Romaine Beckford was 4th in the high jump after a best clearance of 2.22 metres.
