U-17 Reggae Boyz beaten by Argentina

Jamaica's under-17 Reggae Boyz were beaten by Argentina 2 – 1 in their Group "B" match at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Monterrey, Mexico on Tuesday, June 21.

Zhelano Barnes scored Jamaica's first ever goal at this level in the 88th minute.

The Wendell Downswell coached u-17 Reggae Boyz conceded a goal in each half.

The young Reggae Boys will have to beat Group "B" leaders France by a wide margin and hope that Japan beat Argentina to secure one of the best third place spot to progress to the next stage of the competition.

In the day's other Group "B" encounter, France and Japan ended nil-all.

Hosts Mexico defeated the Republic of Congo 1 – 0, while North Korea and Holland ended 1 – 1 in Group "A".
