World champion Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce broke a 25 year-old meet record set by former compatriot Merlene Ottey, after she clocked 10.98 seconds to win the women’s 100 metres at the XXIX Meeting Citta Di Padova in Italy on Sunday.
Jamaica's Natasha Morrison finished fourth in a time of 11.50 seconds while second and third went to Brazil's Rosangela Santos 11.42 and American Shalonda Solomon 11.50 seconds.
Meanwhile, Nesta Carter was the next best placed Jamaican at the meet.
Carter clocked 10.34 seconds to finish third overall in a timed 100 metres final won by Qatar's Femi Ogunode.
Rasheed Dwyer was 4th overall in 10.37 seconds while Julian Forte was 8th in 10.56 seconds.
Elsewhere, Commonwealth Games sprint hurdles champion Andrew Riley who posted 13.40 seconds, was the only Jamaican winner on the day as he sped to victory at the IAAF World Challenge meet in Berlin, Germany.
Running into a -0.1 metres per second head wind, Riley defeated Barbadian Shane Brathwaite 13.42 seconds , Trinidad and Tobago's Mikel Thomas placed fifth in 13.72 seconds.
In the men's Shot Put, World Championships bronze medallist Odayne Richards threw 21.05 metres for third behind winner, New Zealander, Tomas Walsh 21.47 metres.
The other Jamaican competitor on the day, Jason Morgan placed eighth in the Discus with a throw of 60.10 metres behind winner Piotr Malachowski who threw 66.13 metres.
