The West Indies Under-19 women's cricketers produced their best effort with the bat in their quadrangular T20 series in India but it was still not good enough as they suffered a 34 run defeat to New Zealand.
Chasing 177 for victory, the young West Indians were restricted to 142-9. Djenaba Joseph led the batters with 48 from 33 balls, while captain Trishan Holder made 38 and Shunelle Sawh 22. Jamaican Lena Scott was left unbeaten on 6.
Meanwhile, Olivia Gain made 99 for New Zealand in their 176-5. Joseph and Janeilla Glasgow took two wickets each. The young West Indians were losing their fifth game on tour.
