Jamaica's Under-17 Reggae Boyz kept themselves in contention for a spot at the World Cup after a 3-1 win El Salvador in Group ‘B’ of the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship in Panama. Ricardo McIntosh opened the scoring for the Jamaicans in the 17th minute.
Ronald Cerritos then levelled for El Salvador from the penalty spot in the 53rd. But despite Calwayne Allen's red card in the 62nd minute for a second bookable offense, the young Reggae Boyz would once again take the lead through a Kaheem Parris penalty rebound in minute 82.
Parris netted his second in the 90th minute, this time from a free-kick to give the Andrew Edwards team the crucial three points.
The United States moved to the top of the group on six points after edging Mexico 4-3 in Wednesday’s second game in the group.
Mexico with the plus five goal difference, remains second in the group, while Jamaica with a minus three goal difference, is lying third.
