Jury selection is underway in a Southern California courtroom as rapper Tory Lanez goes on trial for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Prosecutors allege that the Canadian rapper, born Daystar Peterson, shot Megan in the foot during an argument after a house party in the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles on July 12, 2020.
Lanez has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
After the jury is selected, testimony in the trial is expected to start in one week.
