Telecommunications company Digicel is targeting savings of about US$100 million a year as part of its 2030 global transformation programme.
Market sources indicated that the company, which is owned by Denis O’Brien, will look for savings through reducing staff costs and other operational cuts.
The company has declined to comment.
On Wednesday Digicel announced plans to cut a quarter of its global workforce over the next 18 months as it looks to lower the burden of its US$6 billion debt.
According to Ireland's Independent newspaper, Digicel on Friday had a quarterly call with bond analysts and outlined that it has already started reducing employee numbers.
Analysts were told that the savings delivered by the new operating model, including the reduced head count, combined with growth in the business, will result in it becoming de-leveraged.
