RJRGLEANER Group's radio services to join digital switchover

The RJRGLEANER Communications Group has announced that its radio services will also be added to the next generation digital transmission services.

This forms part of the digital switchover process, which is mandatory for local free-to-air television service providers.

In a release, the group, which includes Radio Jamaica, announced that the move will see its five radio services added to its ATSC television broadcast delivery.

The company says this will make it the first broadcaster globally to provide this integrated service.

In January 2022, Television Jamaica (TVJ) helped Jamaica to become the third country behind the United States of America and South Korea, to adopt and inaugurate the ATSC 3.0 TV standard.

This will allow local free-to-air user access to high definition broadcast via over-the-air signals through their televisions.
